HCI was founded as a partnership between the College of Business Administration at Harding University and Eastern European Missions (EEM) of Dallas, Texas, a private non-profit corporation.

The intent of this partnership is to take the business expertise available in and through Harding, combine it with the “on-ground” logistical support that EEM has built up over the past 50 years, and begin a “business missions” effort.
This is being done through a series of business seminars, teaching young people about the nature of the American business model and helping them build their own business.

It is a program for the participants to build a future financially and spiritually. By engaging young members of local congregations, it is also an effort to help small churches develop a financial basis for sustaining themselves.
